towards crescent city. you can see they've been getting rain, over two inches so far. mountains with snow there. and winter storm warnings until tomorrow morning so... that is above 2000 feet. cold weather coming our way. we'll see cold in terms of snow and some rain here, soon. and mostly and we're looking at weather to begin, tomorrow snow, arrives and it's going to continue right throughout the weekend. so storms have been deflected for now. there is a jet stream going to start to move towards us. and this is a stronger storm due here friday afternoon and into evening hours. here is the timing of the system. tonight not a lot happening. some clouds, heading towards 5:00 a.m. there is sonoma county starting to see rainfall. there is rain shifting south, there is some yellows here, we'll notice showers behind that. another storm hits us into friday morning, and there is heavy rain for friday evening and heavy rain starts to move down friday night at 9:00 p.m. this, looks like a good storm there for your friday and scattered showers for saturday morning. not a lot heading into sunday

hour gusts crescent city snow in seattle and portland they are all happy. bay area waiting for the rain. here's heavenly this may be the last time you see brown and green and the lack of white in tahoe. unless you watch tonight with swapbtd did and spencer because this -- with did and spencer because this isn't going to move in until tomorrow. low clouds, moisture we talked about the blanket effect keeping the frost away from us no need to worry about pets, plants and pipes tonight. onshore flow developing low and upper level moisture moving in these two will connect with a warm front then a cold front that will bring the rains and heavy rains towards thursday especially friday. let's look at what is going on, mid to upper 40s except fairfield and los gatos. more sun around the monterey bay temperatures here upper 40s to low 50s. scattered light rain possible out of this moisture in the north bay scattered and light won't amount to much nor will the drizzle tonight you will find some of that tomorrow morning. the soaking rain starts tomorrow just about in everyday of the forecast.

from cape mendocino to our north. in fact crescent city picking up moderate to heavy rainfall. as far as current numbers, after a cold start beginning to recover. we still have areas in the 40s still, for santa rosa, san rafael, san francisco, a good portion of the bay area upper 40s to the lower 50s. you can't pick out on the satellite the clouds and the rain showers heading north. look at this moisture extending to the southwest. here is hawaii. a lot of swirling out here. a lot of motion setting up multiple storms. you will feel the impact of the multiple storms over the next few days. for today more cloud cover. the chance of a few light showers developing in the north bay for this evening. for your thursday rain begins, heavy, especially, we are talking about heavy rainfall after 5:00. then another round on friday with more rain and more wind. and between now through saturday morning we could have rainfall amounts ranging potentially from around two inches in the south bay upwards to 4 inches, possibly more in parts of the north bay. so this will be a significant change. our

right here. for -- up toward crescent city. this weak system moves in for tomorrow. with that will generate a few extra clouds and possibly some drizzle to start out your thursday morning. this will be moving out to the east weakening, but that area of low pressure will set up shop right around lake tahoe and that in combination with high pressure developing that will generate more wind. so a bit of a breeze developing as we head into your friday still sunny skies and temperatures on the mild skies. tomorrow morning show i don't go this, some overcast, here is that central valley fog regrouping it's one of the deals you can have instant drop off in visibility, got the rain showers to our north. close enough you can possibility from drizzle tomorrow morning and then into the afternoon hours and stubborn clock cover we can still have more clouds to deal with even by late tomorrow afternoon and into the evening hours. with that most neighborhood coming down, few -- that means the warmest location in the low to mid-60s. and here is a look ahead you are your extended forecast with weeke

at live doppler 7hd, crescent city is getting wet right now. half an inch of rain has fallen. the last several storms here in the bay area certainly helping boost our percent of normal. here is the latest, santa rosa is over 11 inches of rain. 57 percent of normal. san francisco and oakland 48% of normal and san jose is 33% of average. so, yes, we are still running behind. but it is certainly not as behind as we were a week or two ago when we were 20 to 30% of normal. so definitely the recent rain has made a difference. and the sierra snowpack is now 40% of average. it was 10% of normal. look at the storm totals. soda springs over four feet of snow. these are the totals. sugar bowl in the 50s. and as you can see there is tahoe and 48 inches and bear valley, 39 inches of snow. winter is taking a break, at least for the next 7 days. we are in a dry forecast. the temperatures in the 40s and 50s. we do have high clouds out there. we are expecting some fog to form in the valleys toward morning. milder days starting with highs near 70 degrees. you are not hearing things. it is near 70 d

cover has been increasing unbelievable amounts up towards eureka, arkay dah, crescent city -- akcadia, crescent city. our system that will give us a lot of cloud cover here, there's a lot out there. that's a very wet cap of moisture if we can just get it here. cloudy skies. it's thinning to the north. it might take until tonight. you can see some of that light move into mendocino county, lake county, northern sonoma. 30s and 40s, now to near 50 degrees for some on these temperatures. by this evening, hopefully we can get some rain down by los gatos, san jose, santa cruz mountains. but probably not much is going to make it down there. tomorrow night into saturday morning. one more system and then sunday night into monday and then next week all signs say driver weather rushes. >>> the 49 -- weather returns. >>> the 49ers' potential run for the super bowl could not have come at a better time for  the team. right now, the team is selling things and could get $20 million for sel the stadium -- selling the stadium's naming -- naming rights. opponents of the project hope to force the issue

a fremont, it is still on the clear side. >> although crescent city is seeing a little bit of light rain. it may be the leading edge of a decent pattern change but as you know it's cold, cold, cold, it will probably be more east and south by tomorrow, a lot of 20s and a few teens and even along the coast 19 there, ken woods will dip to 19 and bethel island is really coal. palo alto, and alamo is checking in at 28 degrees, fairfield napa, santa rosa livermore 25 and even oakland airports 21 and there are some upper 20s where i saw it. mountain view at moffett 29. the cold air continues to settle and there is not much of a breeze. yesterday it held things up with calm conditions and temperatures just plunge. you can see it mainly arriving over the rim of high pressure and it will be thursday until we talk about rain getting in here. but for san jose south it will take until friday. freeze warning is out, increasing clouds, plenty of moisture and it will paint a lot of rain over fort brag north, cloudy with rain on thursday and friday, i think wind could be the bigger story as it crank

extreme northern call northern why and -- northern california and crescent city. today it is all about the cold out, there really cold out there. i mean really cold, it cuts right through you. warmest temperatures will be around half-moon bay to santa cruz. sonoma 22, i just got a report outside petaluma. nevada 22, 22s in the alamosa. 19 in fairfield, now that is a record low for santa rosa. concord was 29, another record low 21. 30 at the oakland airport, hayward redwood city all 31. and there has been some upper 20s and a little puff of a breeze at fso and northeast fairfield, that brings the temperature up just slightly and brings a windchill but when you have calm conditions, that is when you get your temperatures. sunny and cool today, calm conditions not as blue. the question is will there be enough left and friday looks more promising. this is our cloud and rain forecast and wednesday at 4:00, it is not even here yet and we will take it to thursday morning and it starts to inch closer and finally comes over the area on friday. there is not a lot here folks, there is friday afte

rochester neighborhoods called the crescent. many of our cities in not just big cities have these neighborhoods. these are historic the troubled almost entirely african-american neighborhoods and nationally says not going in hispanic it is a singular black american problem. it in this crescent of troubled neighborhoods the homicide rate for 18 and 19 year-old's is 520 per 100,000 every year that means if you do the long division it means more than one out of a hundred young black men are killed almost entirely by gunshot every year. and my friend does work with the kids from the neighborhoods who were caught up in the system in boston and she and i in everybody who works on these issues are beside ourselves with the fact this goes on in plain sight think it's almost no attention and requires the resources. i was in a working meeting with our black community partners not that long ago and we went off track to talk about why nobody cares about this. the question was from a black man in the room. who we are dying like flies out there and read what to do. but all of this is hiding in
